Identification Beacon – IBN

The Identification Beacon is a powerful, omnidirectional green light designed to flash the aerodrome’s identification letters using Morse code.

• Light fixture body: powder-coated aluminum, RAL 1004 (aviation yellow)
• Diffuser: clear poly-carbonate
• Cable gland: nickel-plated brass
• Fasteners: stainless steel
• Light fixtures are provided with anti condensation valve
• Light fixtures are UV protected

The Identification Beacon must be powered and controlled by a special controller which creates the flashing sequence and alow the brightness control. The Identification Beacon can be also controlled by the main airport controller.

Maximum pick power consumption is 150 W.

The average consumption is less than 20W.

The identification beacon uses OSRAM Green LEDs.

The beam is omnidirectional and the vertical distribution is from 0 to 10 degrees.

The brightness intensity values comply with: ICAO Annex 14 Vol.2 fig.5-11/1

The measured trichromatic coordinates correspond to color range requirements in:
ICAO Annex 14 – Aerodromes Vol.1, fig. A1-1-1b – Colors for aeronautical ground lights (solid-state lighting).

Brightness control is made in three steps 3, 10 and 100%.
