The Heliport FATO is a steady omnidirectional white light designed for marking the Final Approach and Take-off Area (FATO) area.
A lighting system must be present on the heliports where night operations are conducted.
These lights should be located on FATO boundaries. If the FATO is a circle you need a minimum of 10 lights and the distance between the lights must be a maximum of 5 m. If the TLOF is a square you need a minimum of 4 lights for each side and the distance between lights must be a maximum of 50 meters.
