The purpose is to signal the pilots if they are on the correct landing angle. Depending on the approach angle combination of white and red lights will be seen. More reds mean the angle is too low, more white means it is too high.
In the unit, it is integrated an electronic clinometer.
The calibration is made in the factory so the user has just to install the PAPI on the desired angle then push the user calibration button. From this position, if the reading is changed with half-degree the light will automatically be turned OFF and one relay will have an open circuit to signal the failure.
Precision Approach Path Indicator can be made in more powering input voltages
The total power is around 50 W per unit.
If needed we can make these units powered by solar systems.
We use RED and white OSRAM LEDs for these units and specially designed optics for the best optical output.
