The John Radcliffe Hospital is Oxford’s main accident and emergency site and Trust’s largest hospital, providing acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care and cardiothoracic services. Home to many departments of Oxford University Medical School, it strives for excellence in teaching, with apox. 125 postgraduate research students, supporting the career paths of all staff and students. The hospital manages 4 divisions and a research institute (Cardiovascular Medicine, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Investigative Medicine, Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine), each unit having its own local leadership and strategy.

Colourful wallpaper, temporary exhibitions and even interactive artwork help achieve a calming ambience and more uplifting space, enhancing the patient/visitor experience and the working life of all the hospital staff.
