John Radcliffe Hospital – Oxford Helipad

The John Radcliffe Hospital is Oxford’s main accident and emergency site and Trust’s largest hospital, providing acute medical and surgical services including trauma, intensive care and cardiothoracic services. Home to many departments of Oxford University Medical School, it strives for excellence in teaching, with apox. 125 postgraduate research students, supporting the career paths of all staff and students. The hospital manages 4 divisions and a research institute (Cardiovascular Medicine, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Investigative Medicine, Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine), each unit having its own local leadership and strategy.

J.R. Hospital is supported by Oxford Hospitals Charity, and fosters a welcoming enviornment through the OUH arts and music programme. Colourful wallpaper, temporary exhibitions and even interactive artwork help achieve a calming ambience and more uplifting space, enhancing the patient/visitor experience and the working life of all the hospital staff.

Time is crucial in emergency situations, and our lighting system allows for faster and safer take-off and landing of the helicopters, enhancing the patient’s survival chances. For this project, we used the following products:

As always, Signalight‘s products comply with ICAO and FAA regulations, our lighting system fulfilling both infrastructure and customer’s needs.
