The aviation industry demands uncompromising safety and reliability. At Signalight, we have always pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in airfield lighting. In the following sections, we present an overview of the Polaris V3, a system that redefines portable runway lighting through advanced engineering and a commitment to durability.

Engineering excellence: from concept to the runway

The Polaris V3 isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a complete reimagining of the Polaris series. Built in-house at our facility in Petroșani, Romania, this new version leverages over 20 years of manufacturing expertise from ELECTROMAX.

The most significant innovations include:

  • Premium Materials: Transitioning from the polycarbonate used in V1 to a robust aluminum casing for V3, ensuring the system can withstand the harshest environmental conditions.
  • Enhanced Optics: The move to a glass disperser (first introduced in V2 and perfected in V3) offers superior clarity and resistance compared to old polycarbonate solutions.
  • Integrated Solar Power: A major breakthrough in efficiency, featuring built-in 4 x 5 W panels with the option for external expansion up to 40 W.

Polaris V1, V2, and V3: a legacy of improvement

Innovation is a continuous process. To understand the impact of the V3, we must look at how it compares to its predecessors. While the V1 and V2 set high standards, the V3 combines the high energy capacity of the original model with the modern materials of the second generation.

Technical breakdown: the evolution of Polaris

  • Energy Capacity: Polaris V3 delivers 144 Wh, a significant increase from the 32.4 Wh of V2, matching the power of V1 but in a more compact, integrated design.
  • Battery Reliability: Returning to the 12 Ah Lead Acid battery system ensures long-lasting performance and stability for critical operations.
  • Solar Integration: Unlike previous versions which relied solely on external solar panels, V3 offers built-in integration, making deployment faster and safer.

Tailored for every mission: low, medium, and high intensity

We understand that every airfield has unique requirements. That is why the Polaris V3 is available in multiple configurations within our extensive range of portable runway lighting solutions:

  1. Low/Medium Intensity Polaris V3: Ideal for general aviation, temporary runways, and emergency operations.
  2. High Intensity Polaris V3: Designed for more demanding environments requiring maximum visibility and strict compliance.

Proven in the field: real-world applications

Our commitment to innovation is backed by a solid track record of successful installations worldwide. The Polaris series has been a cornerstone for various military and civilian contractors who require rapid deployment and high reliability.

You can explore our international portfolio of projects to see how Signalight solutions are helping airports and heliports operate safely in diverse conditions, from extreme heat to high-humidity environments.

Why choose our products?

By choosing Polaris V3 you are investing in a solution backed by a manufacturer that controls the entire lifecycle—from design to final photometry testing. All our products are issued with an EC declaration of conformity and comply with ICAO and FAA standards.

After making its debut in late 2025, the Polaris V3 is ready to power the next generation of aviation projects in 2026. We invite our partners and contractors to explore how this latest innovation can enhance operational safety, as we prepare for a year of significant growth and new international installations.
